Meet your instructor.

A native of Charlotte, NC, Bob Peters has been called one of the City’s true treasures. His unique approach to hospitality blends education with inspiration to create memorable experiences for his guests… whether they are in-person or online. Both Bob and his innovative cocktails have received recognition in the form of industry awards and guest appearances at high-profile events around the country. But his professional goal remains humble; to inspire curiosity. In Bob’s mind, Great cocktails don’t start with a recipe, they begin with someone asking “what if…”

Meet the feature ingredient.

Fernet Branca is one of the most iconic brands in the spirits world. Through our classes below, we’ll take you through a brief history lesson and a variety of uses.

Class Intro

Known as The Original Fernet, here’s a brief explanation and history of the 150-year-old brand that gives you just a touch of insight into this wonderful spirit. Cheers.

Class I

Hanky Panky

This is one of my all-time favorite classic cocktails. Created by Ada Colemna over one hundred years ago at the Savoy Hotel in London, this little bitter beauty packs a punch. My favorite part is how well the expressed orange oil plays with the flavors in the cocktail. So, so yummy! Cheers.

Class II

27 & Damn Fine

When you start with the 27 herbs and plants in Fernet Branca, then mix in a mocha liqueur, mezcal, and arbol peppers, you end up with a velvety cocktail that offers balanced notes of smokey, bitter, sweet, and spicy. I love how this “ADULT” chocolate martini is easy to make and even easier to drink. Cheers!

Class III

Honey Franciulli

When I was first exploring how to mix Fernet Branca in cocktails, I was curious about how well bourbon played with it. When I added the combination of sweet vermouth and Krupnikas (a spiced honey liqueur), I discovered one of my most beloved cocktails. It’s boozy, bitter, and stirred. ‘Nuff said. Cheers!

Class IV

Boozy Milkshake

I love a good thick milkshake, as much as the next person. But they’re usually missing one secret ingredient: BOOZE! I took Fernet Branca and incorporated it with some complementary flavors. Vanilla ice cream and root beer are a perfect combination with the Original Fernet, leaving us with the most joyous bitter-sweet grown-up milkshake. Cheers!
