Don’t just mix a cocktail, stir your curiosity.

"Anyone can follow a simple drink recipe, just like anyone can paint by numbers. But to truly discover the joy of making cocktails, well... that requires a curious mind."

Meet your instructor.

A native of Charlotte, NC, Bob Peters has been called one of the City’s true treasures. His unique approach to hospitality blends education with inspiration to create memorable experiences for his guests… whether they are in-person or online. Both Bob and his innovative cocktails have received recognition in the form of industry awards and guest appearances at high-profile events around the country. But his professional goal remains humble; to inspire curiosity. In Bob’s mind, Great cocktails don’t start with a recipe, they begin with someone asking “what if…”

Meet the feature ingredient.

It's a well-known fact that I'm passionate about craft spirits - especially ones that come from my home state of North Carolina. It's a pleasure to introduce you to the Muddy River Distillery out of Belmont, NC. This is the first rum distillery in North Carolina. In just over a decade, the husband and wife team of distillers have crafted an enviable portfolio of award winners. Of course, I do have a favorite and I'm not shy about praising Queen Charlotte’s Reserve Rum! I'm delighted to share a few simple recipes using this mildly sweet, aged rum with vanilla and oak notes. These cocktails are easy to make at home, and are sure to #stiryourcuriousity.

Class Intro

This is a brief history of the Muddy River Distillery, owned by my good friends, Robbie and Caroline Delaney (I love their story almost as much as I love their rum). I'll also introduce you to my favorite Muddy River expression: Queen Charlotte's Reserve Rum. Tune in for tasting notes. Cheers!

Class I

Rum Negroni

Aged Rum is one of the most versatile spirits out there, and Queen Charlotte’s Reserve is no exception! It is especially delicious in a simple Negroni format. Boozy, bitter, and slightly sweet, this is about as close to a perfect cocktail as you can get.

Class II

Rum & Rummer

The Rum & Rummer is an ode to one of my favorite movies and after you taste this one, it will become one of your favorite cocktails. There are so many great possibilities with this recipe, I know you’ll have fun exploring it.

Class III

Pumpkin Queen

How about a fall cocktail to remember? It doesn’t get much easier or more scrumptious than this recipe for the Pumpkin Queen. Queen Charlotte’s Reserve Rum is perfect ingredient for when the weather starts to cool off.
